Real people living on the streets are invited to a TV studio to present the weather in place of the regular weather-readers.

When presenting the weather, the homeless person will allow the audience to take a closer look at their daily lives and make a request for donations to the charity.

This short film from Director Eliot Rausch is an amazing and heartbreaking piece of work about the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease. Talking about this terrible disease is difficult. There is no cure. It’s a grueling process to the point of death. And what the man says in the film:

“When you lose your memory you lose yourself”.

The film is also about love. And grief. How hard it is to lose the memories you share together.”

“Ich habe im Laufe der Jahre viel gelernt und wenn etwas wirklich Wichtiges dabei war, dann das, dass die Haupttodesursache auf diesem Planeten die Dummheit ist. Dummheit und die daraus resultierende Intoleranz. Es sind mehr Menschen durch Dummheit umgekommen, als durch Krankheiten, Unfälle und Kriege zusammen. Tatsächlich wurden Kriege aus Dummheit geführt, sind Menschen aus Dummheit einem Unfall zum Opfer gefallen. Nicht immer, aber oft.”

Am wenigsten können aber die Kinder was dafür. Der Bürgerkrieg in Syrien eskaliert, und die Kinder trifft es am härtesten. Jeden Tag fliehen tausende Kinder und ihre Familien über die Grenzen in die Nachbarländer Jordanien, Libanon, Türkei und Irak. In Syrien sind jetzt über 2,5 Millionen Menschen von den Kämpfen betroffen. 1,2 Millionen sind innerhalb des Landes auf der Flucht – fast die Hälfte davon Kinder und Jugendliche. Die Familien haben oft alles verloren, sind traumatisiert und wissen nicht, wohin.
